It was a first for me to stay for the Cup-Eve concert and I was glad I did because I thoroughly enjoyed the singing of Emma Pask. Not only did she have a remarkable voice and an excellent trio, but she was also a consumate entertainer. I was reminded a little of Kurt Elling's performance in 2010. Perhaps that's a bit of a stretch, but you get the idea.
Wang always presents difficult choices with its programming overlaps, and day four also had me reflecting on those gigs that I didn't see but really wished I had. I am still kicking myself for missing Paul Grabowsky's solo concert in the wonderful acoustic of the Cathedral. I also regret not hearing at least a few minutes of Danny Fischer's SPOKE.
